We hand harvested the fruit for the Sterling Vineyards Napa Valley Chardonnay during the cool morning hours. After lots of hand sorting, the grapes were whole-cluster pressed. We then barrel fermented 90% of the wine, and stainless steel fermented the remainder, at a cellar temperature of 50 degrees to maintain fruit and develop overall textural complexity. After 6 months of aging we lightly filtered and bottled the wine.
Light straw in color, our Napa Valley Chardonnay offers a rich, creamy entry with flavors of ripe pear and apple, vanilla and spice followed by a long, fruity/toasty finish. Enjoy our 2005 Napa Valley Chardonnay with a variety of foods, including Caesar salad, fried chicken, and fresh fish in cream sauce.
