Shannon Ridge is dedicated to crafting luscious, fruit-driven wines that express the distinct characteristics of wine grapes grown in Lake County, California. The grapes for this wine were grown in high elevation, mountain vineyards at up to 2,400 feet. The picturesque vineyards overlook Clear Lake, one of the oldest lakes in North America and Californias largest freshwater lake. Tasting Notes The Shannon Ridge 2012 High Elevation Petite Sirah has colors of black plum and garnet. Aromas of ripe black fruits, espresso bean and sweet vanilla. Flavors of blueberry pie, cracked pepper and toffee notes lead to a mouth coating, rich and balanced finish. Region Description:

Lake County is one of the smaller inland wine regions in California. Surrounded to the west by Mendocino and Sonoma Counties, and to the south by Napa Valley, Lake County's small concentration of vineyards lie in the Clear Lake AVA. The vineyard's here are nestled between steep hills to the west the lake shore. Main varieties grown in this area are Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel.
