Product Description

There are 850 cases of a somewhat surprising wine from Rick Forman, the 2014 Pinot Noir Rossi-Wallace. A light, medium-ruby color, this wine was racked only once from barrel to when it was bottled. It was 100% destemmed and aged 10 months in oak, made from three Dijon clones of Pinot Noir. Yields were relatively small, and that shows through in the nice strawberry and cherry notes. The tannins are soft, and the wine is sexy, soft and round. Forman was telling me he picked grapes at an average of 25.6 Brix, and hence, the alcohol is relatively lofty at 14.8%, but it’s well-disguised. The wine is soft, silky and seductive. Drink it over the next 3-5 years (2015-2020). Rick Forman is one of the veteran wine producers in all of Northern California, with experience going back to the beginning of the 1970s, which means he is coming up on nearly 50 years of making wine!
