VARIETAL Sweet Red Wine
Rich with aromas of wild strawberry and sweet balsamic, this Sweet Red Wine is full of maraschino cherry flavor, with candied apple, fresh sugarcane, and juicy red plum. Full-bodied, with richness and depth from the earthy Lodi soil, the light tannins are perfectly balanced by the just-right sweetness. Six months on new French oak gives this blend a touch of sophisticated complexity. Finishing with dried strawberry flavors, this is a sure-fire crowd pleaser.
This sweet red wine is a blend of 55% Syrah from Lodi and 45% Pinot Noir from Clarksburg, two of Californias oldest wine-growing regions. Serve this with a brown sugar BBQ sauce on grilled chicken, a sweet potato casserole, or add some orange slices and serve as a fresh red wine sangria.
Varietal: Sweet Red Dessert Wine
California produces the majority of wine made in the United States. Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel and Pinot Noir dominate the wine production in California, but many other varietials thrive in the California climate. Many fine wines are produced in California using Mediterranean grapes.
