Montecillo Rioja Reserva

Reserva red wine from the Rioja D.O.C.. Following a long maceration period, this wine made out of Temperanillo grapes harvested in the sub-Rioja area of La Rioja Alta, is left to age in Bordeaux barrels, made out of French oak in our wineries, for at least 18 months. It is then left to mature in bottles in our Fuenmayor winery until it is sold. Tasting Notes: Deep cherry red in colour.

Well-structured, balanced with an extensive retro-nasal effect. Drinking Tips: The wine is ideal for bringing out the flavour of every type of meat: duck, chicken, quail and turkey, whether roasted or stewed, and is excellent with red meats and strong cheeses. It should be drunk at 18ºC.

Region Description

This Spanish grape gives wines deep color, low acidity and only moderate alcohol content. In recent years the Ribera del Duero region has been producing wonderful wines featuring this grape; in older, more traditional regions such as Rioja, the grape is blended with others.
