This hearty red wine hails from Puglia, Italy and is produced from the Primitivo grape, affectionately known as the grandfather to the Zinfandel grape.
After being harvested manually when the berries reach their best maturation status, fermentation takes place for about 25 days to emphasize the wine's structure and its aromas. Then, the wine is aged in oak barriques for about four months.
You will find that this wine has an intense ruby red color with a bouquet of mature fruits and spicy notes. The palate is well-balanced with mature fruits, spicy notes, medium tannins and a long finish. Pair this substantial wine with grilled meats, red sauce pasta dishes and strong cheeses.
