The Marchand estate has been in existence over seven generations in Morey-St-Denis, France. In 1983 it was extended with the purchase of an old wine-grower's house, right in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin. The estate includes vineyards located in the villages of Charnbolle-Musigny, Morey-Saint-Denis, Gevrey-Chambertin featuring some first growths such as Les Sentiers at Chambolle, le Clos des Ormes at Morey, les Combottes at Gevrey, as well as great growths : Clos de la Roche at Morey, Griottes Chambertin and Charmes Chambertin at Gevrey. Most vines are around 40 years old and grapes are picked by hand.
This Hautes Cotes de Nuits represents the ideals and quality of the Marchand estate displaying a ruby red color, medium-body and boasts aromas of cherry, licorice, and violet. With pleasant tannins, this is a perfect pair for beef, including steak, rib or braised beef. It will also go very well with sweet-and-sour combinations such as duck with orange or Moroccan tagine.
