At Domaine du Grand Bourjassot, the cultivation of the vine is a long standing family tradition. In each branch of the family tree, maternal side as paternal, vine growers have collected the grapes of Gigondas.
The estate of Grand Bourjassot was born in 1993 when Pierre and Marie-Claude inherited the vineyards from each of their sets of parents and decided to leave the cooperative and create their own estate from scratch. Their daughter Cécile (who married a winemaker from Visan, with whom she is helping in the creation of the L'Obrieu estate) joined them in 2001 and officially took over in 2005.
