Chloes Pinot Noir is an elegant yet complex wine that delivers structure, flavors and aromas. Using grapes grown in two distinctive cool climate regions in California, Monterey County and Russian River Valley, allowed for Winemaker Georgetta Dane to blend these amazing regions together. The Monterey County Pinot Noir provides flavors and aromas of wild strawberry, plum, and cherries, while the Russian River Valley Pinot Noir complements these fruit notes with spicy clove that adds complexity, richness, and aromas of fresh torn spearmint leaves. Georgetta cold soaked the whole berries for 4 days, fermented at cool temperatures to retain the fruit and pressed gently at dryness. The wine was aged in French Oak.

Region Description

(pee noh nwahr)—A tricky grape to grow, Pinot Noir makes some of the best wines in the world. The prototype wine is red Burgundy from France but Oregon, California, New Zealand, and parts of Australia also produce good Pinot Noir. The wine is lighter in color than Cabernet or Merlot with relatively high alcohol, medium-to-high acidity, and medium-to-low tannin. Its flavors and aromas can be very fruity or earthy and woodsy, depending on how it is grown. It is rarely blended with other grapes.
