Product Description
Our Pinot Noir shows the rich, velvety profile and big, bold character of its distinguished pedigree. Expressive varietal character delivers Bing cherry, strawberry and blackberry briar aromas with long, heady accents of vanilla and caramel. Dark fruit leaps off the entry, followed by coconut and crème caramel. Sit back and enjoy a glass, recommends Winemaker Marty Spate. Its a tribute to the simple joys in life - good dogs and great wines.
Vineyard
Famous for its idyllic climate, California has the perfect weather for growing juicy, fruit-forward grapes. Under an expansive sky of brilliant sunshine, grapes develop rich, succulent flavors. The days heat, however, is almost always dry and never lasts long, cooled in the evenings by the influence of the nearby Pacific Ocean and waterways. This allows the grapes to ripen slowly and linger on the vine well into the fall for rich, well-balanced flavors.
Winemaking
Fruit was harvested at the peak of maturity then fermented in stainless steel tanks. Regular pump-overs maintained thorough extraction of aromas and flavors. Winemaker Marty Spate used both French and American oak for aging, which complemented the Pinot Noir perfectly, adding rich notes of vanilla and spice. A small amount of Syrah was blended in prior to bottling, further enhancing the succulent texture of the wine.
