Characteristic Bordeaux roundness. Château du Lort typically displays a sumptuous, deep color. Note the fine oaky aromas, with hints of cherries and spice. A surprisingly mature palate with well-balanced fruit and oak over a good tannic structure, both refined and powerful.
Serve with fine charcuterie or roasted poultry, veal, a good cut of beef and mature cheeses. Decant into a carafe for 1½ hours, and serve at 17°C. This is a wine to enjoy straight away, or lay down for 4 – 6 years away from direct light. Lort is totally energy self-sufficient, and is heated by burning vine shoots gathered from the vineyard.
