Beautiful intense ruby color, this wine is clean and brilliant. A powerful nose, with a dominant spicy (pepper) aroma of ripe fruits (blackberries and blackcurrant) begin to reveal themselves. Powerful on the palate, with long aromatic persistence. Tannins present but well integrated.
Food and wine pairing:
Beef stew, Provençal lamb saddle, pepper steak, venison stew, wild mushroom risotto, mature cheeses.
"A blend of 51% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre and the rest Cinsault and other varieties. Harvested at the end of October, it has beautiful ripeness and sweetness of tannin to go with perfumed kirsch, blackberry, dried flowers and spice aromas and flavors. Made in a pretty, medium-bodied, supple style, it makes the most of this cooler vintage and will have a decade or more of longevity."
